At the November meeting of Keep Emanuel Beautiful, members and guests were advised of the approval of KEB as a designated 501C3 nonprofit organization. This is a major achievement and means donated funds to the “clean community group” are now tax deductible. Uncle Birdy, the organization’s mascot has been busy making appearances at a variety of community events recently. “Unc” was with KEB volunteers who assisted the County with Tire Amnesty Day in November and
was also spotted at the Cotton Blossom Festival in Twin City and the Swainsboro Christmas Parade. If you see Uncle Birdy anywhere around the county, ask him for a Keep Emanuel Beautiful Pledge Card. This shows that you do your part to make sure our county is clean and cared for.
Coming up, KEB will be working with area schools to host clean-ups throughout the county. In January, the group will hold its first “press conference” to get the word out on the 2024 campaign with T-shirts, yard signs and billboards to make sure everyone is a part of the group’s biggest push yet. As always KEB is open to all volunteers who want to see a clean-er, greener Emanuel County. At the November Meeting the following volunteers and staff were present: Lena White (EGSC),
