Mrs. Joyce Scott, age 70, of Twin City, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating. Family received friends one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kenton Scott, Teddy Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Ricky Hernandez, Reecie Scott and Shane Brown.

Joyce was born July 16, 1955, to Robert Lee Brown and Pauline Brown Bowen. She was a devoted Christian woman and a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she treated others. A lifelong resident of Emanuel County, Joyce was known as an honest and hardworking woman with an amazing work ethic. She worked tirelessly to help make the mobile home business as successful as possible and took great pride in her work. Joyce was a loving and dedicated wife who cared deeply for her husband, Gerald. She waited on him hand and foot, always bringing his meals to his chair and serving him with love. Taking care of him brought her joy.

Joyce experienced great heartbreak in the loss of her daughter, Jinny, who passed away at 17 years old in a car accident. Even through that sorrow, she remained strong in her faith. Joyce loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Joyce will be remembered for her strong faith, her hardworking spirit, and the love she showed to her family every day. Mrs. Scott is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Pauline and Jesse Bowen; father, Robert Lee Brown; daughter, Jennifer Fennell; and sister, Fayette Kirchner.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Gerald Scott of Twin City; stepson, Randy Scott (Vera) of Kite; stepdaughters, Keila Perkins (Nick) of Swainsboro and Nikkia Mathis (Russell) of Statesboro; brother, Wayne Brown of Twin City; beloved niece, Tammy Wilkerson (Willard) of Swainsboro; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
