John Willie Walker, age 76, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023. A Homecoming Service was held Sunday, August 15, at 2 p.m. at Holy Zion Holiness Church in Twin City with Pastor Debbie Pierce officiating and Minister Charline Mitchell presiding.
Mr. Walker was born May 2, 1947, the third of seven children, to the late J.C. and Mandy Lee Walker. He was affectionately known as “Dub” or “J.W.”. Mr. Walker will be remembered as a friendly and loving man with a sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family, and everyone wanted to take care of him. J.W. loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Holy Zion Holiness Church in Twin City. He was thankful in life and his testimony “Jesus knows all about it”. Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe and Matthew Walker; and sister, Mollie Nelson.
Mr. Walker leaves to cherish his memories with his sisters, Ella Mae Lovett of Swainsboro and Annie Lee (Bobby) Ellison of Portal; brother, Daniel (Freddie) Walker of Augusta; favorite uncle, Charlie Walker of Augusta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
