Jan Durden Reynolds, age 79, of Booneville, Mississippi, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. A memorial for friends and family will be held in Dublin with the date to be announced.

Born November 22, 1946, in Athens, Jan lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and genuine love for the people around her. She graduated from Margaret McAvoy High School in Macon in 1964 and went on to attend Georgia Southwestern College. Jan built a meaningful career at Carl Vinson VAMC in Dublin where she served for over fifteen years. Her dedication to that work reflected the same compassion and care she brought to every part of her life.

Those who knew Jan knew her laugh. It was infectious, the kind that could fill a room and make everyone feel like they were in on the joke. She loved a good story and a good punch line, and she had a way of making even ordinary moments feel special. Jan was the person who remembered your favorite snack and had it ready when you walked through the door. She was the one who sent cards on birthdays, anniversaries, and just because, always with a heartfelt message that let you know she was thinking of you. Whether you were family or a first-time visitor, Jan treated you like you belonged, and she made sure you felt important and remembered. Ms. Reynolds is preceded in death by her mother, Janis Durden; father, Samuel J. Durden; and brother, Joe Durden.

Ms. Reynolds is survived by her son, Sean Reynolds (Deana); daughter, Victoria Farmer (Michial); grandchildren, Afton and Quin; and a wide circle of family and close friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Jan's faith was a quiet and steady part of her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she rests now in God's loving care.

McMillan Funeral Home, Booneville, MS, was in charge of arrangements.
