James “Jimmy” McNeely, 65

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. James, “Jimmy” McNeely, age 65, of Martinez, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his home. Funeral services were con-ducted Friday, September 29, at 3 p.m. in the Peebles- Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Kenney officiating.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors. Burial fol-lowed in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were David Berry, Wayne Hall, Danny Harrell, Richard Daniels, Wayne Sumner and Richard Fountain. Honorary Pallbearer was Mr. George Brannan.

Born in Swainsboro to Mr. Freddie C. Pete and Ada Sherrod McNeely, Jimmy was a 1975 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He was an Emanuel County Little League Baseball coach and in the mid 70’s, won a State Championship. Jimmy loved golf and was an avid Georgia Tech fan. He was a self-employed business owner and was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Swainsboro. Mr. McNeely is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Phyllis Kline.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary “Liz” Elizabeth Miller McNeely of Martinez; two daughters, April Kroger (Ryan) of Evans and Brooke Comella (Counts) of Harlem; son, Zac McNeely (Melissa) of Martinez; sisters, Lisa Peebles (Randall) of Swainsboro and Judy McCorkle (Gary) of Claxton; seven grandchildren, Grayson Kroger, Gatlin Kroger, Griffin Kroger, Mason Comella, Maverick Comella, Chatham Comella and Payne McNeely; several nieces and nephews.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
