James Albert Mincey, 70

James Albert Mincey, age 70, peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2026. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Mosley’s Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Lawrence officiating.

James was born December 11, 1955, in Garfield, to the late Albert James and Viola Mincey. He graduated from Swainsboro High School and attended Fort Valley State College. Later in life, James married Elizabeth (Lane) Mincey of Swainsboro. He loved his family and always made time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren memorable and fun. James loved being outdoors and not matter what he was doing, simply being outside brought him joy. He had a deep passion for sports, especially football, which was always his favorite. Mr. Mincey is preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Brenda Mincey and Christine Mincey; and granddaughter, Mya Lane.

Mr. Mincey leaves a lifetime of memories with his children, Crystal (Curtis) Lambry of Lumber City, Ronald (Charlotte) Williams of Swainsboro and Percy (Juliet) Lane of Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Brown of Wadley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
