Ivey Gordon Goodman, Sr., 80

On January 2, 2021, Ivey Gordon Goodman, Sr., age 80, went home to be with the Lord. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan.5 at 1pm. at Mt. Shady Baptist Church. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Goodman was born in Register, GA on October 12, 1940, and lived most of his life in Metter. He was a member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church in Swainsboro where he served as a Deacon for many years. Mr. Goodman retired from Brooks Instrument. He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family, and collecting model trains and cars. Mr. Goodman is proceeded in death by his parents, John Willie and Essie Mae Goodman, and older brother, Billy Franklin Goodman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Fulmer Goodman; three children, Ivey G. (Pam) Goodman, Jr., Richard (Robin) Goodman, and Janice (Andy) Sutton; six grandchildren, Brianna Goodman, Samantha Goodman, Logan Goodman, Luke Goodman, Tony Sutton, and Anna Marie Sutton; brothers and sisters, Clevie (Tammy) Goodman, John Goodman, Louie Goodman, Ray (Minnie) Goodman, Kay Alderman, Eileen (Frank) Smith; and many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Shady Baptist Church Youth Fund at 630 Sandhill Rd. Swainsboro, GA 30401 in memory of Ivey G. Goodman, Sr.
