Yes, we just celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus. He has made it possible for us to be restored back to God. Remember we were separated from him because of Adam's sin in the garden. Now we can personally communicate with God again. As a matter of fact, Jesus has everything arranged so that we can live with him forever.
Remember John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Now Isaiah gave the people hope of the Messiah coming about 700 years before Christ. Isaiah 53: tells us he was despised and rejected. He carried our griefs and sorrows. Although he committed no sin, all our sins were placed upon him.
Isaiah 53:3-4 tells us, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
So given another Resurrection Sunday, which happens on Easter Day celebration, how will you respond? Knowing that Jesus obeyed his Father to come to suffer and die for us, how will you respond?
Well, what do you mean, how will I respond? He gave love, so will you still hate? He brought peace. Will you cause arguments, conflict and war? He brought joy. Will you still worry? Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief comes but to steal, kill, and destroy, but I come that you might have life and that more abundantly.”
So, which will be your response? Are you a thief getting pleasure out of stealing, killing and destroying others when they are not bothering you? Or are you living the abundant life of love, peace and joy? Remember at Jesus's birth the angel announced, “Glory to God in the Highest. And on earth, peace and good will toward all men.” Again, I ask, after all that Jesus has done, what is your response to celebrating Easter, the day of Jesus's Resurrection.
