Hooks speaks to EDGE CCA students

EDGE College and Career Academy (EDGE CCA) welcomed Cherie Hooks, Emanuel County entrepreneur and Board of Education member, as a guest speaker for the Small Business Entrepreneurship Basics course. Mrs. Hooks offered practical guidance and real-world insights from her experience as a business owner and community leader.

Mrs. Hooks discussed the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, such as identifying opportunities, managing startup challenges, building customer relationships, and maintaining a strong work ethic. She stressed the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and accountability, and highlighted the role of community support and local resources in achieving long-term success.

Mrs. Hooks encouraged students to see entrepreneurship as a career path and a means to benefit their community. She explained the vital role local businesses play in economic development and job creation and challenged students to consider how their ideas and skills could address needs in Emanuel County. Her message reinforced the importance of leadership, service, and integrity, qualities she demonstrates in her business and on the Board of Education.
