Herron speaks to Fall Line Chapter

The Fall Line Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Tuesday night, February 13, at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce at 7 p.m. With President Sandy Mercer presiding, thirteen attendees were present. After the opening prayer, the pledge to the U.S. Flag and the pledge to the Sons of the American Revolution, President Sandy called on Vice President Dess Smith III for a special presentation. Compatriot Dess presented the Chapter with three Chapter Flag Streamers that were received for presenting the Chapter Wreath at Fort Morris, Come and take it event, the Elijah Clark Heroes of the Hornets nest event and the 245th Kettle Creek Anniversary of the Battle at Kettle Creek. Compatriot Dess then introduced Compatriot Lee Herron, Vice President of the Brier Creek Chapter in Screven County for his presentation. Compatriot Lee's presentation was on "Capt. Jack Jovett, Paul Revere of the South". Two members of the Jared Irwin Chapter of the DAR, Mary Jo Kemp Selwyn May, presented a request to the Chapter for help during the Annual "Wreaths Across America" event on December 14, 2024.
