The Swainsboro Exchange Club held its regular meeting on March 17, where club member Scotty Hattaway served as the guest speaker.

Hattaway, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Area Representative for Emanuel County, shared an overview of the organization’s mission and local impact, which has grown significantly over the past few years. In his role, he serves public schools throughout the county, as well as David Emanuel Academy and East Georgia State College.

During his presentation, Hattaway explained that the goal of FCA is to lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. He further shared that FCA seeks to make disciples through its strategy of engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ, while leading others to do the same.

He noted that FCA fulfills this mission through a variety of programs, including campus “huddles,” athletic camps, community outreach ministries, and resources designed to promote discipleship, spiritual growth, and Christ-centered leadership in sports.

Hattaway also emphasized that FCA relies heavily on community support and fundraising efforts to continue its work and expand its reach.

The Swainsboro Exchange Club expressed its appreciation for Hattaway’s dedication to mentoring and supporting local students and athletes. In support of FCA’s mission, the club presented a $500 donation to help further its efforts in Emanuel County.
