Happy Halloween

Why do we use pumpkins for Halloween? Pumpkins are associated with Halloween because Irish and Scottish immigrants brought the old tradition of carving scary faces into root vegetables to North America in the 1800s where they swapped turnips and potatoes for native, larger, and easier to carve pumpkins.

It was said that a man named Stingy Jack tricked the Devil and was cursed to roam the Earth forever. By placing a scary pumpkin near doors and windows, it would frighten away Jack’s wondering soul.

Don’t know what these chickens have in mind, but Jack definitely won’t be around their chicken coop this Halloween.
