The April 2026 Term of the Emanuel County grand jury convened Monday, April 20, 2026, with The Honorable Judge Tommy J. Smith presiding. The Grand Jurors elected Tiffany Lamar to serve as foreperson, Michael Vernon to serve as assistant foreperson and Lindsey Scott to serve as clerk. The Grand Jurors and Bailiff Patrick Sweet were sworn in by Judge Smith as to their duties.

The District Attorney’s Office presented 11 bills of indictment to the grand jury, with the grand jury returning 11 true bill(s) and 0 no bill(s).
