Glad Garden Club closes year with donations and celebrations

Posted

As we happily usher out 2020, the Glad Garden Club finishes sprinkling Christmas cheer. Sylvia Durden, Jeanette Hall, Gloria Mason, Margaret Sweet and Audrey West presented a Christmas donation to Brandi Hood of the Sunshine House. Unfortunately, this time of year along with COVID-19 restrictions has made the Sunshine House a very busy place so the visit was short, but, as always, the donation was greatly appreciated during these difficult times.  Afterwards, members treated themselves to a small Christmas luncheon at Berni’s and a jolly time was had by all. Good food and good friends are such a blessing this time of year.
As Santa’s last official act, the Glad Garden Club made their annual deliverance of Christmas stockings to Emanuel County Hospital Nursing Home.  Each year, Christmas stockings are distributed to nursing homes in Emanuel County on a rotating basis. Usually, members get to visit and sometimes even sing Christmas carols with residents, but, again, due to restrictions this year the club was only able to present these stockings at the gated entrance to the home. Sincerely wishing 31 residents along with staff a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a happier New Year.
