Give thanks

Posted

The most grateful observed day, in my opinion, is Thanksgiving. I am thankful that our nation observed at least one day of Thanks. When you give thanks, you are recognizing that someone has given you something. When we give thanks to God, we acknowledge that he is our source. David said in Psalms 121:1 “I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from which comes my help, my help comes from the Lord.”

God is our help in everything. Philippians states that, “and my God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory.” “And in everything, give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you.” So, we should thank God for everything.

When we grew up in church, the saints would testify, “thank God for life, health and strength”. Before going to bed, we gave God thanks. Before eating food, we gave God thanks.

Today when we give thanks, we thank God for giving us his Son, Jesus Christ. We give thanks for Jesus Christ giving his life for us. For the word tells us that, “while we were without strength, Christ died for the ungodly”. So let us give thanks for salvation and the gift of eternal life.

Remember, Thanksgiving covers it all. So, continue to be grateful. For God is worthy to be praised.
