The Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have received a formal proclamation from the Georgia State Senate recognizing their collaborative work in the investigation and prosecution of a child sex trafficking operation. The proclamation was issued by Lieutenant Governor and President of the Senate Burt Jones on March 27, 2026.
The Senate proclamation specifically commends District Attorney Tripp Fitzner and Chief Investigator Rocky Davis of the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, along with Sheriff Jeffrey Brewer and Investigator Michael Reddish of the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, for their roles in the investigation.
In November 2025, the two offices launched a joint, week-long investigation into a child sex trafficking operation originating in Emanuel County. The investigation expanded across the state, with authorities following leads from Emanuel County to Savannah and Atlanta. The operation resulted in the arrest and federal indictment of four individuals connected to the trafficking and exploitation of five minor victims.
“The safety of children in our communities is not negotiable,” said District Attorney Tripp Fitzner. “This case demanded that we bring every resource we had to bear, and Sheriff Brewer and his team were with us every step of the way. The recognition from the Georgia Senate and the U.S. Attorney General reflects the seriousness of this work and the dedication of the people who carried it out.”
“When District Attorney Fitzner brought this case to our attention, there was no question we were going all in,” said Sheriff Jeffrey Brewer. “Our investigators worked around the clock alongside the DA’s office to build this case and protect these children. This proclamation is a testament to what local law enforcement can accomplish when agencies work together.”
The joint investigation also drew national recognition. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi recognized both offices for their outstanding work on the case, underscoring the significance of the operation and its impact on combating child exploitation.
The Senate proclamation notes that District Attorney Fitzner and Sheriff Brewer combined their offices and resources to pursue the case across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting a model of interagency cooperation that both leaders credit as essential to the investigation’s success.
The Middle Judicial Circuit encompasses Candler, Emanuel, Jefferson, Toombs, and Washington Counties in southeast Georgia.
