George Brinson Jr. - First African American to participate in a car show in Emanuel County

George Brinson Jr.’s passion for cars led him to start collecting classic cars. His first purchase was a 1952 Mercury, followed by a 1967 Camaro. In 1987, Brinson participated in his first car show in Emanuel County. He won his first trophy in 1990 with his 1967 Camaro in a car show in Waynesboro.
He attends car shows throughout Georgia and other states, and has racked up over 1,000 trophies. Brinson also has collections of NASCAR cars and Hot Wheels in hopes of leaving this legacy to his family.
