Mr. Gary Leon Green, 65, of Adrian, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral service was held Sunday, August 13, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Green and Pastor Jimmy Stapleton officiating. Interment followed in Odomville Cemetery in Adrian. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 12, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Michael Wilson, Michael Dobson, PeeWee Wilson, Ricky Beck, Billy Bennett, Justin Johnson and Don Wilkes.
Gary was born July 29, 1958, in Jasper, FL, to the late J.W. and Sara Hysmith Green. He drove a school bus for Emanuel County for many years, and also drove a gas truck for many years. Gary was employed at Swainsboro Concrete. He loved farming, fishing and spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. Gary loved reading the bible and preaching God’s world. Mr. Green is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vivian Coren, Wanda Barber and Karen Green; brothers, Michael Green, Buddy Green and Frank Green.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Jennifer Green of Adrian; sons, Gary Green, Jr. (Tiffany) and Matthew Dent, both of Adrian; daughters, Latosha Green and Tammy Coleman (R.J.), both of Swainsboro, and Brittany Phillips (Matt) of Soperton; brother, Allen Green (Linette) of Kite; 13 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
