Frye speaks to Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held their weekly meeting Tuesday, November 21, at 7 p.m. at the Rustic Grill. With President Cheryl Goodman presiding, they had 21 in attendance including three guests: Peyton Frye, Jimmy Allen and Bill Barber. The pear cake with caramel glaze donated by Petite Garrett was won by President Cheryl. She presented the cake to Mr. Frye for his informative program. The Domino’s pizza donated by Domino's was won by Cayla Scarboro and Bobbie Daughtry won the Christmas poinsettia. Dess Smith announced that the Wreaths Across America ceremony will be on December 16 at 10 a.m. at the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The program for the evening was hosted by Tracy Mason who introduced Peyton Frye, Practice Manager for the East Georgia Healthcare Center (EGHC). EGHC is a federally qualified Community Health Center with offices throughout southeast Georgia. They serve thirteen counties in this area, with corporate offices in Swainsboro. Established in 1993, they have 15 clinical sites and included among their services are adult medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, mental health, chiropractic, optometry, chronic care, in-house pharmacy, dental, wellness, vaccines, school-based medicine, and community education. They also employ mobile units in the 5,800 square mile service area through their outreach program. EGHC currently sees over 25,000 patients each year with over 70,000 patient/healthcare provider interactions. They most recently opened an Optometry Clinic behind the North Coleman Street building.
