Fred Lewis Braswell, 85

Fred Lewis Braswell, age 85, of Adrian, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his residence. Graveside services were held Monday, May 4, at 5 p.m. at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating. Family visited with friends at the cemetery following the service.

Born June 28, 1940, in Fitzgerald, Fred was the son of the late Donald Hugh and Blanche Avery Braswell. He grew up in the Calvary Methodist Church and was a member there, and more recently he had attended the Adrian Charge Churches. Fred served his country in the National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. In his youth, he raced cars at the Swainsboro Raceway and enjoyed attending races. Fred was easygoing and one to always go with the flow. Mr. Braswell is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Watson Braswell; brothers, Don Braswell, Ned Braswell and Hugh Braswell; and grandson, Jeremy Braswell.

Mr. Braswell is survived by his children, Clint (Nickole) Braswell of Adrian, Tammy Chalker of Swainsboro, Dave (Debra) Henry of Twin City, Chris Braswell of Milledgeville and Barry Braswell of Adrian; grandchildren, Jared Chalker of Swainsboro, Hannah Henry of Twin City and Maggie Rae Braswell of Adrian; great-grandson, Braiden Chalker; sister, Carol (Jim) Berry of Evans; a special friend, Carolyn Rosenfield, brother-in-law, Joe (Linda) Watson of Twin City; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
