On June 27, Franklin Memorial Library celebrated the conclusion of their annual Summer Reading Program with a color block party. The color party began at 10 a.m. and lasted until 1 p.m. and was held downtown in the parking lot of the library. Children that attended the block party played in the cool water from the fire hose sprinklers that was donated by the Emanuel County Fire and Rescue department and toddlers enjoyed splashing in the kiddie pool. Color powder was thrown onto attendees to top off all the fun. The Kiwanis Club provided lunch for all who attended.
