Forgive

Can you think of anything better than to end the year with forgiveness? Well some may say, “I was thinking of a new years resolution”. What? A new resolution with unresolved issues. The Word of God says you cannot put new wine in old wine skins or the old skins will burst and you will lose the new wine. So you have to put new wine in new skins and then you are able to keep new wine.

Why forgive? When you forgive others God will forgive you. When you are merciful unto others God will be merciful unto you.

When you forgive others God will hear you when you pray. Mark 11:25 , Jesus says,”And when you stand praying, forgive. When you forgive others then he will forgive you. And if you don't forgive others, your heavenly Father will not forgive you. “

I don't know about you, but I need forgiveness for things past, present and moving forward. So let's start the new year with a clean slate. Forgive. Leave the old, what has happened in the past and start the new year with all things forgiven.

You already know your struggle this past year by thinking you just could not let it go. Be free. Jesus said, he come to heal the broken hearted and to set the captive free. (Luke 4:18 & Isaiah 61:1) He set us free by forgiving us of our sins. Now that you have been forgiven of those things you don't want others to know, that should make it easier for you to forgive.

Remember, love forgives. It was the love of the Father and his Son that we are forgiven today. John 3:16, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
