Five sentenced in Superior Court

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court April 2023 term:

Hershel Riner, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-Alford plea on one count ID Fraud. He was fined $50 with 10 years probation; one count theft of lost or mislead property with 12 months probation. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 10 years to be served on probation. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

David Robbie Johnson negotiated a guilty plea on one count terroristic threats. He was fined $500 with 6 years to serve on probation, 170-180 days PDC (susp.); one count possession of meth with 3 years probation. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 5 years to be served on probation.

Wesley Odom, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-Alford plea on one count aggravated stalking. He was fined $50 with 10 years probation and take anger management classes; one count terroristic threats and acts with 5 years probation. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 10 years to be served on probation. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Greggory Steward negotiated a guilty plea on one count theft by taking. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 5 years probation, completion of inpatient rehab. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 5 years to be served on probation.

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court July 2023 term:

Michael Frank Avery II negotiated a guilty plea on one count theft by shoplifting. He was fined $50 with 10 years, 1 year to serve, bal. prob. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 10 years, with the first year to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation as determined by the custodian.

Charles Fields, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count fleeing/attempting to elude. He was sentenced to 5 years to serve without parole; one count possession of cocaine w/intent to distribute. He was fined $1,000 with 30 years, 10 years to serve without parole; one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was fined $1,000 with 10 years to serve on parole; one count obstruction with 12 months to serve; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months to serve; one count failure to wear seatbelt and fined $15. The Defendant is sentenced to a total of 30 years, with the first 10 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
