FBLA raises money for the March of Dimes

The Emanuel County Institute Middle and High School Chapters of Future Business Leaders of America and our communities joined hands in November to raise money for the March of Dimes, a national service partner of FBLA. Friday, November 17, was National Prematurity Awareness Day, and we focused everyone’s attention on the problem of premature birth.

Students and staff from ECI, employees at Twin City Elementary, and employees at Durden Banking Company helped with this project to raise awareness and money. With purple being the color of Prematurity Awareness, participants were encouraged to wear purple with their jeans.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the organization funds programs of research, education, community service, and advocacy to save babies. Each year, ECI FBLA sponsors a variety of projects to raise awareness and money to support the mission of the March of Dimes.
