Kylee Farley is the daughter of Allen and Katrina Farley. She is the Drum Major for the Band of Gold at SHS and has been involved with this program throughout high school. Additionally, she has been a member of Spanish Cub and Beta Club, as well as a regular volunteer with the Swainsboro Jaycees. Kylee takes honors level classes and is a dual enrollment student at Georgia Southern University East Georgia Campus.
After high school, she plans to attend college and major in Music Education to pursue a career as a music teacher. Fittingly, she chose SHS Band Director Lindy Sikes as her STAR Teacher.
Kylee says Mr. Sikes pushes her to be a better musician and person. She shares, “I've had his class every semester since freshmen year and learn something new every day. I have learned how to be self-motivated with practicing, instead of relying on others to motivate me. Mr. Sikes is always talking about the importance of good character and leadership, not just in the classroom but in all parts of our life. He cares about making a difference in his students' lives and is a fantastic teacher.”
