The Swainsboro Rotary club met Monday, May 4, at the Rustic Grill with the meeting being called to order by President Lynn Brinson. The club discussed the Pine Tree Festival and the beauty pageant that was recently held. Rotary sponsors the beauty pageant and has a float in the parade for all the contestants. Even though it was raining, the float still had six queens riding, so this was a successful day. Mitch Fagler had the program for the meeting and gave an update on Southeastern Tech’s enrollment and programs that are offered by them. The Swainsboro campus offers many opportunities for students that do not want to attend a four-year college and can enter the workforce sooner. There are many programs for non-traditional students that accommodate their work schedule. After the presentation, the meeting was adjourned.
