EMC announces reinstatement of hospital visitation in most units

Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) has taken precautions to protect and maintain the health and safety of patients and staff during the Covid-19 Pandemic to prevent the spread of the virus into the hospital. Effective March 1, 2021, EMC announced reinstating visitations except in rooms of patients who are Covid-19 positive and/or pending Covid-19 test results. The following guidelines should be followed while visiting EMC:
Visitation hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Saturday; and 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday.
All inpatient visitors must use the front entrance only.
All visitors will be screened.
All visitors that pass the screening will receive a visitor pass and will be masked.
Visitors must be 18 years of age or older.
Only one visitor per patient at a time. Visitor must remain the same person throughout the duration of stay that day.
Visitor must remain in the patient’s room when in the facility.
Visitation exceptions
End of Life Visitation
Four visitors will be allowed, two at a time, for one hour. One of the four visitors will be allowed to remain with the patient until death.
ER
One visitor will be allowed to remain with the patient receiving care but will be at the discretion of the staff and/or physician.
Ambulatory Surgery
One visitor will be allowed with the patient as support and escort.
Pediatric Patients
One parent/guardian will be allowed to remain with the pediatric patient. A second support person, parent/grandparent, can be designated to relieve the one parent in times of prolonged hospitalization.
Intensive Care
The no visitor rule will remain in place for this unit.
Senior Behavioral Health
The no visitor rule will remain in place for this unit.
