The Emanuel Retired Educators Association recently held its February meeting February 18, at Twin City Elementary School. President Toney Golden welcomed members and called the meeting to order. Twin City Elementary School Principal Jessica Collins welcomed the group and shared some of the many exciting things happening at TCE. An invocation was given by Huddie Culbreth, and members enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the Twin City Elementary lunchroom and served by Twin City Elementary Beta Club members.
Following the meal, the group was entertained by Twin City Elementary Beta Club members. One of the group’s service projects is to donate school supplies to the host school at each meeting. A variety of supplies were presented to Ms. Collins. The group continues to support the Sunshine Advocacy Center at each meeting. EREA also supports the Georgia Retired Educators Association project, Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia. EREA members had the opportunity to sign-up to volunteer for Read Across America to read to students at Swainsboro Elementary School and Twin City Elementary.
EREA wishes to thank Twin City Elementary School administrators and staff for the warm hospitality extended to the group. The next EREA meeting is set for Wednesday, April 15, at Emanuel County Institute, with a Queensborough Bank representative providing the program.
