Emanuel Medical Center is pleased to announce the upcoming merger of Emanuel Surgical Associates and Emanuel Physician Associates. The combined practice will operate under the name Emanuel Physician Associates at the practice’s current location at 305 Kite Road in Swainsboro, beginning May 26.

This strategic merger brings together General Surgeon Dr. John Bishop, Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Randy Brown, and their dedicated care teams under one roof, further strengthening EMC’s ability to provide high-quality, coordinated care to patients across the region.

By uniting these practices, EMC will enhance operational efficiency and improve the overall patient experience. Patients will benefit from access to a broader range of specialty and surgical services in one convenient location. This integration also ensures better alignment with insurance requirements for specialty care.

“This merger is an exciting milestone that reflects our ongoing commitment to improving healthcare for the community we serve,” said Damien Scott, CEO of Emanuel Medical Center. “By uniting talented professionals, proven experience, and strong teams, we’re creating a foundation for even greater care. When you put this level of expertise together in one place, it means better access, better care, and better outcomes for our patients.”

In addition to the physicians working side by side, their clinical and support teams will also work together to foster greater collaboration and continuity of care. This new structure allows staff to collaborate more closely, streamlining processes and enhancing communication across specialties.

The newly combined Emanuel Physician Associates will continue to offer a wide range of specialty and surgical services, with the Vascular Lab remaining an integral part of the practice.
