United States Attorney General Pamela Bondi presents awards to Emanuel County law enforcement personnel and prosecutors Monday, March 8, 2026, at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick following her remarks at graduation ceremonies for the first 2026 trainee class for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Policing recognized the cooperative efforts of the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, the Middle Judicial Circuit (MJC) District Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia in identifying and charging four individuals in a child sexual exploitation and trafficking operation in Swainsboro, Georgia, leading to a 16-count superseding federal indictment returned in January in USA v. Williams et. al.
The recognition honors Sheriff Jeffrey Brewer, District Attorney Tripp Fitzner, Investigator Michael Reddish, and Chief Investigator Rocky Davis for their roles in the complex, multi-agency investigation.
In November 2025, the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office, working alongside the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia and the FBI, conducted a week-long investigation into a child sex trafficking operation that originated in Emanuel County and extended to Savannah and Atlanta. Through coordinated efforts, authorities identified and arrested the four local individuals involved in the trafficking and exploitation of five minor victims.
Attorney General Bondi cited the case as an example of outstanding cooperation between local and federal law enforcement in combating the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. The recognition highlights the dedication, professionalism, and persistence of the investigators involved, as well as their commitment to protecting victims and holding offenders accountable.
“The collaborative effort between agencies was critical to the successful outcome of this investigation,” said Sheriff Jeffrey Brewer and District Attorney Tripp Fitzner in a joint statement. “Our offices remain committed to aggressively pursuing those who exploit children and other vulnerable members of our communities.”
