Emanuel County Schools officially welcomed employees back for the 2026-2027 school year during its annual districtwide convocation, bringing together teachers, administrators, support staff, and Board of Education members for a morning of inspiration, celebration, and a renewed commitment to serving students.
This year’s convocation focused on the theme “Igniting the Future.” The event highlighted four guiding principles that will shape the district’s work this year: Perspective, Purpose, Priority, and People.
Assistant Superintendent Jansen Ware welcomed everyone and reminded them that each school year is a new chance to make a difference for students and families. “Whether this is your first year with Emanuel County Schools or your thirtieth, today marks a new beginning,” Ware said. “Every school year allows us to recommit ourselves to our mission and to the students who are counting on us.”
Ware encouraged staff to embrace the district’s four guiding principles. He reflected on how educators make a lasting impact through daily interactions and emphasized that Emanuel County Schools’ success is measured not just by academic results, but by the lives changed through encouragement, relationships, and service.
The district invited nationally recognized speaker and leadership consultant Kevin Paul Scott, who encouraged employees to see leadership in a new way by introducing the idea of ROI, or Return on Inspiration. He told educators that “inspiration is not something we wait for, but it is something we create,” and urged staff to invest in both results and relationships. Throughout his talk, Scott stressed that inspired educators value both, and lasting influence comes from how they encourage, support, and invest in others.
Superintendent Dr. Denise Warnock built on Scott’s message by urging employees to “be the inspiration someone else needs” through the district’s four guiding principles: Perspective, Purpose, Priority, and People. She encouraged staff to choose a hopeful Perspective by focusing on possibilities instead of obstacles, and to let challenges help them grow. She also reminded everyone that Purpose comes from Emanuel County Schools’ mission to prepare and inspire every student for success, and that every employee, no matter their role, can make a difference in a child’s life.
Dr. Warnock also encouraged employees to protect the Priorities that help them grow both professionally and personally by focusing on what matters most. She finished by saying that People are at the heart of education. While programs and resources are important, she reminded staff that relationships truly make the difference. Every interaction, she said, is a chance to build trust, encourage others, and inspire someone.
As Emanuel County Schools gets ready to welcome students back, the convocation’s message was clear: inspiration comes from the choices educators make every day. By leading with hope, purpose, focus, and strong relationships, employees will keep strengthening the community one student at a time and help ignite the future of Emanuel County Schools.
