Emanuel County Family Connection is happy to sponsor their Annual Ferst Readers Book Character Contest to raise money to provide books to children under 5 years old. This program sends quality books and a parent newsletter to the homes of children each month at no cost to the family. This is totally community funded, and your dollars show your support of improving childhood literacy and the future of Emanuel County.
The competition is fierce, and it will heat up as the month of October continues. Please be a part of this fun project by donating online or in person with one of our characters. See information on the Emanuel County Family Connection Facebook page or use this link to donate https://ferst-readers-inc.networkforgood.com/events/92280-ferst-readers-of-emanuel-county-s-character-contest-2025.
After Week 1 of the Book Character Contest, the following results are in:
1st Place "Wizard of Oz with $228; 2nd Place "Joy, Inside Out" $152; tied for 3rd Place "101 Dalmatians" & "Farmer in the Dell" $144.
