Ella Redolia Greene, age 87, passed away peacefully Friday, April 17, 2026, surrounded by the deep love of her family. A Celebration of Life was held Thursday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul-Noah’s Ark AME Church with Pastor Minnie Pitts officiating. Interment followed at Kirkland Cemetery.
Ella was born April 1, 1939, oldest daughter to the late Barney and Willie Mae Williams. She was employed with the Richmond County Board of Education from March 1979 until her retirement in May 2008. Her proudest moments were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ella’s greatest joy came from seeing her family thrive, and she poured her heart into nurturing them with unconditional love, wisdom and faith. Mrs. Greene is preceded in death by her parents; son, Quinton Mincey; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Ralph Rosario; brother, Harry Williams; and brother-in-law, John Reese.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her children, Phyllis Brown Meredith (Terry) Wade, Melton Greene, Sonya Greene and Blaine Greene (Tracy); 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters; four brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
