Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sause, 95

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Sause, age 95, of Swainsboro, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her residence. Funeral Services were conducted Friday, September 22, at 11 a.m. in the Peebles- Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Curt Grimm officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.

Burial followed in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Justin Hartmeyer, Chris Sause, Jake Grimm, Tommy Sause, Grant Barry and Bailey Sause.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Mr. Michael and Veronica Lipko Gayan, Mrs. Betty came to Georgia around 1966. She had also lived in Florida for 20 plus years. Betty was a homemaker, and at one time, worked at The Dianah Shop in Swainsboro. She was a great cook and was an “authentic pizza baker”. She and her husband loved to travel and enjoyed riding their three wheeled bicycles. Mrs. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Well into her 80’s, Mrs. Sause remained active and clear minded. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mrs. Sause is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Edward Sause; daughter, Diane Marie Sause; son, Thomas Edward Sause, Jr., two sisters, Mary Rast and Anne Pavis; and two brothers, Steve and Edward Gayan.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Sause Hartmeyer ( Derek) of Swainsboro; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Sause (Mary) of Swainsboro; six grandchildren, Justin Hartmeyer, Ciara Barry (Grant), Kristie Grimm (Curt), Tommy Sause (Stacey), Christopher “Chris” Sause (Mandy) and Brian Sause (Jill); nine great-grandchildren, Abe Thomas Barry, Madison Grimm, Jacob Grimm, Savannah Sause, Isabell Sause, Kyler Akridge (Daren), Bailey Sause, Monica Sause and Amy Sause; three great-great-grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Kade Ricks and Paisley Holloway.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
