Mr. Edward Brantley, age 72, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, September 16, at 12 p.m. at Green Cemetery with Bishop Harvey Rackins officiating.

Mr. Brantley was born June 15, 1951, in Swainsboro, to the late Leroy Brantley Sr. and Lucille Watson Brantley. He attended Emanuel County schools and graduated from Swainsboro High School. After graduation, Mr. Brantley was employed with the Suburban Gas Company as a driver. He later worked for the City of Swainsboro Gas Company and the Swainsboro Fire Department as Battalion Chief and served in the US Army National Guard for many years. Mr. Brantley is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lovella Gracy, Margaret Scott, Elnora Gracy, Mattie Lee Brantley and Polly Brantley; brothers, Johnny Brantley, Leroy Brantley Jr. and Samuel Brantley.

Mr. Brantley leaves to cherish his loving memories with his devoted wife of 26 years and love of his life, Shirley Bell Brantley; daughters, Christy Lewis of Statesboro, Tressy (Terry) Andrews, Tessie (James) Johnson and Rhonda Seabrough, all of Swainsboro; sons, Al Brantley of Sicklerville, NJ, Shawn Brantley of Millville, NJ and Michael Foster of Swainsboro; brother, Carl Brantley of Swainsboro; sister, Barbara Ricks of Swainsboro; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
