July 20

Investigators observed a vehicle swerve towards the center line several times, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The female passenger appeared to be nervous due to taking deep breaths and she and the driver were asked to exit the vehicle. When the driver exited, investigator identified him as being an offender who has been involved in the sales of illegal drugs. K-9 Maya was deployed for a free air sniff and had a very noticeable change in behavior on the driver side door. During a search of the vehicle, a cut straw with a crystal-like substance was found inside the female’s purse and field tested positive for meth. A shotgun was found in the trunk of the vehicle with no serial number that seemed to be stolen from someone in Garfield, and the driver of the vehicle is a convicted felon. Both occupants were placed under arrest, and the driver began making incriminating statements. Both were transported to EmCo Jail.

July 21

Victim stated two pit bulls killed 17 chickens and a turkey in their pen. Victim stated he shot one but the other one got away.

Deputy responded to Lee Ln. in Garfield in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated she and her husband got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.

July 23

Deputy observed a truck pull into the dumpsite on Fairground Rd. and the driver exited the vehicle and began sifting through the dumpsters. Deputy made contact with the driver and upon running his info, he was found to have a suspended license. Offender was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Upon searching offender’s vehicle, several small crystal-like rocks were located in the passenger floorboard and field tested positive for Fentanyl.

Deputy was dispatched to Wadley-Coleman Lake Rd. in reference to an accident with a vehicle on fire. Deputy observed the vehicle fully engulfed and made contact with a vehicle sitting in the roadway and made contact with the driver of the engulfed vehicle. Upon approaching the driver, deputy could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person and he stated his ankles were bothering him. Deputy observed where the left the roadway and struck a tree. Driver was transported to EMC by EMS and issued a citation for DUI under 21.

July 24

Complainant stated three dogs keep going onto her yard chasing her, her mother and her cat. She stated they have torn the cat’s ear and went into her property she is building.

Deputy responded to Phillips St. in reference to a property dispute. Complainant stated recently purchased a lot and owns property behind the lot and offender texted him and stated the water would be cut off from the adjacent residence and for complainant to stay off the property. C/p stated on a previous occurrence, offender placed a camera on the adjacent property facing c/p’s property, so c/p placed a camera facing the adjacent property and offender became irate and the two got into a verbal altercation. C/p stated his son will be placing a trailer on his property and did not want things to progress further. C/p on the date of this report, he observed tire tracks leaving the concrete driveway of the adjacent property crossing to his property and believes that if he should stay on his property, offender should do the same.

July 25

Deputy was called to assist EMS with a patient found collapsed and wasn’t breathing or responding. Upon arrival, deputy and first responders were performing CPR and EMS transported victim to EMC.

Deputy responded to JM Spearman Rd. in referenced to a male lying in the roadway. Complainant stated offender was irate and throwing rocks at his vehicle, and deputy observed the male subject walking in the roadway screaming and cussing while stumbling to walk. Deputy approached offender and he started cussing at him, then bet over and appeared to pick up a rock. Deputy exited his vehicle and gave commands for offender to stop, and he did. Deputy approached offender and could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person and refused to identify himself. Deputy then went to place him under arrest, and he pulled away and was assisted to the ground and continued to resist and was tased with no effect. Deputy and first responder then successfully got both hands behind his back and placed him under arrest. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

July 26

Deputies responded to Christopher Dr. in reference to a domestic.
