July 13
Deputy executed a bench warrant on offender at EmCo Courthouse and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Deputies were dispatched to the Junction Store in reference to a possible burglary. Suspect was outside the store and fled running through the woods. Deputies had negative contact locating him but received a call that he was outside the store with cuts all over him. Deputies arrived and transported offender to EmCo Jail.
Victim stated her ex-husband/offender keeps sending her harassing and threatening messages toward her and her children.
Deputy responded to a tint violation traffic stop in reference to a possible DUI. Offender agreed to giving a PBT sample which gave a positive reading of alcohol and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Deputy responded to Candler Co. ER to meet with a female who was assaulted in Emanuel Co. Victim stated she was assaulted by a female and two males around lunch time and they sprayed her with bug spray and a fire extinguisher. She stated she stabbed a male subject twice with a multi-tool. Victim stated around 7 p.m., the female grabbed her by her hair and started punching her with a closed fist and was face down in the yard when someone picked her up and took her to the hospital. During further investigation, it was determined that the victim was high and began destroying the residence and falling all around and injured herself during the time she was destroying the room.
July 14
Deputy spoke with complainant who stated he did some work for offender who refused to pay for the completed services.
July 15
Deputy met with complainant in reference to an altercation that took place on Hawhammock Church Rd. C/p stated he was doing construction work and while setting up boards for the foundation, another employee got irate and threw a board from the ditch, striking c/p with it. C/p stated he told offender that if he was going to hit him to at least let him take his teeth out. C/p stated as he was taking his teeth out, offender exited the trench and went behind another co-worker. C/p then turned to take his teeth out and offender struck him in the face with a closed fist blindsided. C/p stated he received a fracture on both sides of his jaw and fractured sinus cavity. Deputy made contact with the employer who stated he was not on scene, but c/p has been causing issued with other crew members for a few months. He also stated that c/p started cussing at offender and offender approached c/p, and c/p lunged at offender with a rod and offender swung on c/p. Witnesses stated offender set the board outside of the ditch and did not intentionally strike c/p with the board.
Complainant stated she got into a physical altercation with a female a few days prior and thought things would drop between them. C/p stated they work together and the two would cross paths at the clock-in station, and offender threatened to slap her. C/p also stated offender had already clocked in for work and while c/p was clocking in, offender walked by and body-bumped her. C/p advised she reported the incident to HR and was advised to pursue a TPO if she wished to do so.
Deputy was informed by 911 that Candler Co. was in an active pursuit of a vehicle on I16 going West. While enroute to intercept, Candler Co. deputies stated the vehicle got off on exit 90 headed North so EmCo deputy stated he would be setting up spike strips at US 1 and Hwy 192. Before setting up, deputy was informed that the vehicle made a U-turn and headed South. Deputy made contact with the vehicle in the left lane traveling South at speeds of appx. 110 MPH. Deputy was able to perform a pit maneuver and stop the vehicle. Offender was transported to Candler Co. Jail.
July 17
Deputy was dispatched to Scarboro Church Rd. in reference to child custody and the children’s mother being unfit. Complainant/father of the children stated he is concerned for the safety and well-being of his children staying with their mother and her boyfriend who was recently released from jail. C/p stated the mother is living from hotel to hotel and his children are being exposed to all kinds of things.
Deputies were doing routine license check when he made contact with a driver and could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Driver was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug related objects and ordered to appear in court.
Deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint when he made contact with a driver and observed a Twisted Tea laying on the rear floorboard behind the driver seat and a Bahama Mama in the driver side door. Driver was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform a field sobriety, which she agreed. A male passenger was in the backseat asleep and was advised to exit the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, a digital scale, two empty sandwich bags, a small ziploc bag containing a brown crystal-like substance which tested positive for meth and fentanyl and $4,160 cash was found. Both offenders were transported to EmCo Jail.
Complainant stated her child was to be returned home at 6 p.m. and she was unable to get in touch with the father.
July 18
Deputy was dispatched to S. Bell Rd. in reference to complainant’s dog being shot. C/p stated the dogs started barking and ran towards the front of the residence and as she was trying to get around there to call the dogs, she heard a gunshot and the dogs ran back to the back of the house. While speaking with c/p, offender contacted 911 asking to speak to reporting deputy. Offender stated he is training for an event and on the weekends, he jogs and has had issues with c/p’s dogs and has filed previous reports about him being aggressive. Offender stated he fired one shot at the dog because it got in close proximity to him. Offender also stated c/p went to his residence to confront him and spun wheels in his yard.
