April 11

Deputy met with complainant and victim in reference to harassing communications. C/p is the biological mother of victim who is deaf and unable to speak and is dependent on her mother or interpretation via sign language. Victim received threating text messages from an unknown person with an out of state number. C/p stated the messages were threatening and believes the incident is drama related to the fact that one suspect is a previous boyfriend and he could have put the other suspect up to harassing victim.

Report was made in reference to a Bell South internet box being struck and damaged by an unknown vehicle.

Deputy was dispatched to PruittHealth in reference to a report of elder abuse.

Deputy was dispatched to Modoc Center Rd. in reference to damage to property. Victim and complainant stated an adjacent neighbor on Hickory Ln. was having trees cut down and damaged her fence. C/p’s advised offenders are well aware of where the property line is due to previous civil disputes.

April 12

Deputy was dispatched to W Green St. in reference to a domestic dispute. Complainant stated he and his wife were arguing and he was packing his things to leave but wanted to take their 6-year-old daughter because his wife is unfit due to an alcohol problem and feels his daughter is not safe with her.

April 13

Complainant called 911 to report a noise complaint. C/p stated she had a video from her residence with the noise from the Bitcoin Facility. C/p was instructed on where the Code Enforcement Office is located.

Complainant stated offender is his ex-wife and he allowed her to live at the residence for years and just found out she forged his name and sold property on St. Galilee Rd.

April 14

Complainant stated she heard dogs outside and when she looked out her window, she saw a woman standing under her carport by her vehicle. C/p stated she went outside and heard a door close but didn’t see a vehicle drive away.

April 15

Complainant stated when her daughter tried to file her taxes, she was informed that she could not file due to her name and SS# being used.

Deputy was dispatched to Page Garrett Rd. in reference to a theft. Complainant stated someone stole his utility trailer from his yard.

April 16

Deputy was contacted by complainant who stated his neighbors called and advised someone drug his sewer pipe off from his new property.

Deputy responded to US 1 N Bypass in reference to an abandoned vehicle blocking the turning lane. Vehicle was towed.

Deputy responded to Cowford Bridge Rd. in reference to two mailboxes that had been knocked down.

Deputies were advised that a male subject was chasing a female down the road and dragged her home and they were fighting in the yard. Upon arrival, both parties were sitting in a parked vehicle in the yard. Both were separated and interviewed and gave conflicting stories. In the course of the investigation, the male subj4ect provided false name to mislead deputies due to having active arrest warrants out of Laurens Co. Both were transported to EmCo Jail.

April 17

Deputy observed a vehicle traveling 94 MPH on I16, at which time he attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle briefly slowed to appx. 45 MPH then accelerated to appx. 80 MPH, failing to yield to deputy’s emergency lights and siren. Driver exited on Exit 90 and stopped, then proceeded through the intersection. Deputy maintained close proximity to the vehicle as driver initiated a left-hand turn to go north on US 1, and the driver struck the front of deputy’s vehicle at which time deputy accelerated slightly, pushing offender’s vehicle and bringing it to a stop. Driver was ordered to exit his vehicle. Deputy asked driver about his failure to stop and he stated he did not realize he was the subject of the traffic stop and that he worked at Crider and was trying to get to work. Driver appeared somewhat disconnected from reality, exhibiting slow responses and sluggish movement. An empty packet of THC gummies was found, and the driver was transported to EmCo Jail. Troopers administered field sobriety exercises after which driver was charged with DUI of drugs.

Victim stated she just found out her father passed away two years ago and she went to pick up his ashes and belongings and found out his vehicle had been sold.

Victim stated his neighbor’s pit bull chases him while he’s running and has been going in victim’s yard. Victim has two children and he is scared the dog might attack them.

April 18

Complainant stated offender has a vehicle that belongs to him and will not return it.
