March 9
Deputy was traveling on Hwy 56 North behind a vehicle and could not read the tag, so he got closer and the vehicle accelerated, traveling at 97 MPH. Deputy initiated his emergency equipment and the vehicle stopped just before Fairground Rd. Deputy made contact with the driver and asked why he accelerated to that kind of speed in a 55 MPH zone and he stated he thought someone was gonna try to run him off the road. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail for reckless driving over 100 MPH.
Deputies were notified of an abandoned vehicle on Alton Lawson Rd. found partially in the roadway. And had been there for appx. three weeks. It appeared as though someone tried to steal the vehicle due to drag marks in the ditch from where it was parked. Vehicle was towed.
Deputy was dispatched top Watson Rd. in reference to a vehicle vs. deer crash, causing moderate damage to the vehicle.
Complainant was hauling liquid fertilizer and ran off the road on Hwy 23 N and was able to regain control but the under carriage struck a concrete drainage culvert causing extensive damage to the vehicle. Vehicle had to be towed.
March 10
Deputy served offender with a TPO on West St.
Deputies responded to Oak Park in reference to an elderly man who had been sitting on the side of the road for hours. Deputies made contact with the victim sitting in the vehicle and was visibly weak and disoriented and could barely answer questions and had slurred speech. EMS was notified and transported victim to Vidalia where he is from.
Deputies executed a warrant on offender on Christopher Dr. and transported him to EmCo Jail.
Deputy observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. An open air sniff was conducted by K9 and gave a positive alert where a small baggy containing cocaine was located.
Deputy was dispatched to Dellwood Main St. in reference to a domestic dispute. Complainant stated her boyfriend was being verbally aggressive, arguing and constantly texting her and she wanted a deputy present while she gathered her belongings. C/p advised she is moving out and will be taking a TPO on offender.
March 11
Deputy was dispatched to Waller Woods Rd. in reference to a dog call. Complainant stated she heard some commotion and saw dogs trying to get a cat and the cat went in the front of her car and the dog bit a piece of her bumper off and scratched several spots on her car trying to get to the cat.
March 13
Deputies responded to Leman Rd. in reference to complainant stating a male subject was sitting in her car. Offender stated it was his mother’s car and that he was at his parents’ house. Offender was detained and was unable to answer any questions. A search was done where a glass pipe, a set of scales, stipe of paper and a pill bottle not belonging to offender was found. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
March 14
Complainant stated a turkey struck his vehicle on Hwy 221 causing damage to the front end.
Deputies responded to Waller Woods Cir. in reference to complainant’s neighbor’s dogs killing c/p’s cats and chickens.
March 15
Deputies responded to Hwy 192 in reference to a single vehicle accident. Deputies met with EMS who found offender next to the vehicle. Deputies then spoke with offender and could smell a strong odor of alcohol and asked if her would give a breath sample in which he agreed. PBT showed positive for alcohol. Vehicle was found to have no insurance and was towed.
Deputy responded to Keas Mill Pind Rd. in reference to an alarm. The key holder advised no one should be at the residence and advised that a few days prior, he observed an individual on his camera walking onto the porch with a flashlight at appx. 3:00 a.m. Deputy believed someone could have been attempting to burglarize or squat at the residence and walked around the residence and observed the back door open. As he walked around the residence, he heard a noise coming from the west side of the residence that could only be described as a popping sound. Nothing inside appeared to be disturbed.
Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 297 in reference to a threat. Complainant stated his son-in-law threatened to beat him up and was in fear that offender may cause him harm.
