According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

December 1

Victim realized his welder was missing and thinks his nephew/suspect stole it because he noticed his air compressor was also missing and called suspect’s grandfather about it. Suspect had the air compressor and took it back but denied having the welder.

December 3

Victim stated someone hit his camper, causing extensive damage.

December 5

Complainant stated he lost the tag off of his motorcycle.

December 6

Deputy was dispatched to Friendship Church Rd. in reference to a structure fire. Twin City FD was on scene and had the fire under control.

Deputies responded to Hwy 5 North in reference to damage to property. Deputy met with both parties who claimed ownership of the residence. C/p was the girlfriend of the previous owner and stated she was handed the original title of the property prior to the owner passing away. The other party who is the niece of the deceased owner stated she had a title to the residence. Both parties provided the titles and they had two different year models as well as two different sizes. Both were advised to obtain legal advice to settle the matter.

Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 56 North in reference to damage to a vehicle. Complainant stated a four-wheeler passed her and knocked a rock into her windshield.

Deputy was dispatched to GLS in reference to a civil dispute. Offender stated his girlfriend stole $100 and his cellphone and she was at Mill Store. Deputy made contact with the girlfriend who stated she did not steal anything and offender bought her the phone a few months ago. While talking with the girlfriend, offender was calling her several times and then drove by Mill Pond. Offender’s license is suspended and his vehicle is not registered. Offender was arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.

December 7

Complainant stated his vehicle was struck by another vehicle that left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to Museum Rd. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies met with complainant who stated her aunt lives and the location and she not any other family members had been able to make contact with her for several weeks. C/p was able to make contact with the aunt when she arrived at the residence a short time later.

Deputy was dispatched to N. College St. where complainant stated there was a male in his yard when he got home. Deputy searched the area but did not locate anyone and advised c/p that he had two outstanding felony warrants and he had to be taken in. On the way to the jail, c/p stated he felt a seizure coming on and as they got closer, he complained even more. C/p was taken to EMC ER, evaluated and released, then transported back to EmCo Jail.

December 8

Deputy met with complainant at SPD in reference to an incident that occurred on a school bus.

Deputy responded to Sam Wood Rd. in reference to two suspicious vehicles riding down the road shining lights. Complainants stated two vehicles had been riding down the dirt road at a slow pace shining lights as they road by. One c/p stated that her brother had recently gotten out of jail and made threats against the family. Deputies searched the area with negative contact on either vehicle.

December 9

Deputy was dispatched to Williams Rd. in Kite I reference to stolen items. Complainant stated she noticed three of her lawn mowers, a pressure washer, a weed eater, and a gas can were all missing from her front porch.

Writ of possession was served on W. Church St. without incident.

Deputies responded to Canoochee-Garfield Rd. in reference to a civil matter regarding property and an unwanted person. Deputies discovered the property vacant and walked the perimeter and found no evidence of any attempted forced entry with all doors and windows appearing to be locked and secured. A family friend went to the residence on behalf of the c/p and was advised of deputy’s findings.

Deputy took a call in reference to a fraudulent and forgery offense. Complainant stated her ex-husband’s son went to Daniels Chevrolet and traded his car for a truck and listed her name as a co-signer without her permission or knowledge.

December 11

Deputy responded Club Rolex regarding an individual that was detained by security. Upon arrival, witness was working with security and stated that when offender was searched before entering the club, he had a hard object in his belt line and when questioned, he ran away. Witness stated that while offender was running away, a firearm fell on the ground and witness chased offender down and took him to the ground. The firearm came back as stolen. Offender was informed of his charges before transporting him to EmCo Jail. While offender was being processed, two baggies containing 13 pills were found in his jacket pocket and offender advised they were Ecstasy. Offender was then informed that he was also going to be charged with crossing guard lines with controlled substances.

Deputy responded to Perch Rd. in reference to threats being made. Complainant stated her neighbor made threats to harm her over the neighbor’s dogs. C/p stated offender’s blue heelers went onto her property several times and harmed her dogs and had recently attacked and killed her poodle. C/p showed deputy text messages she received from social media to and from offender’s wife explaining what would happen if the dogs returned and c/p was told that if she harmed the dogs, that would be the worst thing she could do. Deputy explained to c/p that she has the right to protect herself and her property if the dog became aggressive to her or any animals she may have. Deputy then made contact with offender who had also called 911 in reference to the same incident. Offender stated about there not being a leash law in Emanuel County and he was informed that c/p had the right to protect herself and her property.
