September 22

Deputy responded to Christopher Dr. in reference to victim stating he was called by witness to go see his baby they have together. Victim stated while he was there, witness’ father and brother beat him with a hammer and pipe. Victim did have injuries to his head and upper body. Victim left the scene and went to his mother’s residence on E. Pine St. and the ambu-lance was called to check him out and they transported him to EMC ER. Deputy and Inv. talked to witness who stated she didn’t call the victim to go to her residence, that he broke in her house and was hiding under the bed when her brother found him. Witness has done several reports on victim trying to break in her residence.

September 25

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO in reference to a lost tag. C/p stated he believes his tag was lost in the mail and he checked with the tag office and they advised that the tag had not came in yet and a report was needed for a replacement.

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO in reference to forgery of a check.

Deputy met with complainants at ECSO where c/p #1 stated someone wired $19,800 from c/p #2’s account into c/p #1’s account. C/p stated she met with the bank and was told that the money was still sitting in a bank in CA. C/p showed deputy a number that had been steady calling her from IL. C/p’s advised neither one of them have signed for a wire transfer.

Deputy met with complainant in reference to a lost tag. C/p advised she believes the tag was lost in the mail and needed a report to get a replacement.

September 26

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO in reference to a theft.

Deputy responded to Waller Wood Cir. In reference to a stolen motorcycle. C/p advised they received a ticket from Rowell Public Safety Office where they captured the motorcycle speed-ing in a school zone. Upon receiving the citation, c/p went to the shed and discovered the motorcycle was missing. Victim stated he last saw the motorcycle about a month ago and has not checked on it since he’s an over the road trucker. Victim advised he parked the mo-torcycle a few years ago and never reinstated the registration. Motorcycle was entered into GCIC as stolen.

Deputy responded to Mixon Rd. in reference to missing animals. Complainant stated her fa-ther’s goats were missing from their pen and a neighbor explained to her that animal control took them. C/p stated she spoke with animal control, and they told her the owners obtained the animals. Deputy showed c/p a picture from a Facebook post about some goats found, at which time she confirmed they were the goats in question. Contact was made with a gentle-man who retrieved that goats and arrangements were made to return them to c/p’s father.

September 27

Deputies responded to Five points Store in reference to a subject being involved in a vehicle accident.

Officer responded to Hunnicutt Cir. in reference to someone writing on the door and rolling toilet tissue in the yard.

Complainant stated his daughter asked him and his wife if suspect could stay with them for a few days and they agreed. Suspect showed up and had another individual with him. They let both stay but told them they would be in separate rooms. After a few days, complainant started having problems with suspects. C/P noticed that suspect seemed to have some men-tal issues and called the father, who drove up from Florida. The father tried to get the sus-pect to go back with him without the female. Suspect stated he would not go without her. Officers carried the suspects to Roadway Inn, as requested.

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO in reference to a theft. C/p stated a witness observed offenders at the metal scrapyard selling a log splitter that belonged to victim. C/p also be-lieves offenders took two trailers to the scrap yard, all being taken without permission. C/p stated she and her husband checked their storage shed and discovered a section of tin siding had been unscrewed and removed, along with a section of plywood behind the tin siding.

September 28

Victim states she got a call from a Lt. Michael Kennedy of the U.S. Government who stated she owed $350 and if she didn’t pay, a bench warrant would be issue for her. She didn’t send the money. She was told by a deputy that it was a scam.

Officer had to go get keys out of a vehicle and hand them to a subject through her window. She somehow locked herself inside and had to have the keys to open the door.

Deputies were dispatched to Whippoorwill Rd. in reference to a break-in. Homeowner stated two male subjects had been staying at the home and were kicked out, and he knows the two of them broke into his home. Items stolen were two Poulan chain saws, air compressor, and a 9mm handgun.

Officers were dispatched to Falcon Trl. in reference to a domestic dispute. Deputies spoke with complainant who stated he was at the above listed address to see his daughter when his wife/offender showed up and began arguing. The offender was advised not to return to this address.

Deputies were dispatched to Alton Lawson Rd. regarding an elder female walking down the road, saying she didn’t want to go back home. When officers arrived, they were unable to lo-cate the female.

Officers responded to Arthur Hutcheson Rd. in reference to a welfare check on a female who had been involved in an altercation.

Deputies assisted with a structure fire on Bird Flanders Rd.

Officer responded to N. Green St. to assist SPD officers with a wanted subject.

Officer responded to Waldon Way in Adrian regarding a wanted person. Contact was made with offender who had an active probation warrant through the City of Swainsboro. Offend-er was arrested and booked into the Emanuel County Jail.

Complainant stated that while working with the County Road Department he came up on a dead dog in a trash bag on the side of Old Garfield Rd. Deputies said it looked like the dog had been shot by an arrow.

Deputies assisted Jefferson Co. SO and Wadley PD with a missing elderly person who suffers from dementia and had walked off from a care home. Subject was located in a wooded area near the home and evaluated by EMS and returned home safely.

September 29

Deputy responded to US 1 Bypass in reference to four dogs running in and out of traffic.

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO for a report of credit card fraud.

Deputy assisted SPD with the apprehension of suspect on Lucky St. Suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies assisted with a brush fire on McLeod Bridge Rd. Witness stated he was hauling an older model vehicle when he heard one of the tires pop and observed smoke coming from the vehicle, then saw smoke and fire in the median.

Deputy responded to Rustic Grill in reference to a burglary alarm. Everything was checked and secured with no signs of forced entry.

September 30

Deputy responded to King. Dr. in reference to a verbal altercation. Deputy observed victim and offender arguing in the kitchen but neither one would answer the door. After appx. 10 mins., the male subject left the kitchen and the female subject opened the door and ex-plained the altercation was only verbal. Victim stated the male subject has a drinking prob-lem and gets argumentative when drinking. Deputy explained the process of 10-13 to victim and family members.

Deputy met with complainant on 5th Ave. in reference to a burglary forced entry. C/p stated he returned home and discovered someone had broken out the lower left windowpane to the garage door that leads into the kitchen where he discovered someone took $120 - $150 cash that was on the counter.

Deputies responded to Mt. Shady Church Rd. in reference to a domestic. 911 advised depu-ties that the female caller wanted a ride away from the residence. Deputies made contact with the female caller who advised she just wanted a ride to her mothers in order to get away from the domestic dispute. While waiting on the female subject to gather her belongings, a male subject stepped outside and stated he wanted to tell his side of the story because the female/ex-wife tells stories on him. The male subject advised the female had been shooting at him with a bb gun and threw a pair of snips at him. The female subject was given a cour-tesy ride to a family member’s residence on Springtime St.

Deputies responded to a call on US 1 Bypass regarding a suspicious vehicle sitting in the middle of the road. Deputies made contact with the vehicle and the offender exited and was unable to keep himself upright and smelled of alcohol. Offender stated he was not driving and was waiting to be picked up, and he was the only one around the vehicle. There was an open container of beer and several empty mini bottles of liquor scattered throughout the ve-hicle, as well as alongside the road beside the vehicle. Offender had an injury on his leg and was physically unable to perform any field sobriety tests. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail. Offender was convicted as a habitual violator in 2019 and is wanted out of Effingham Co. for failure to appear for DUI and Cobb Co. for failure to appear for driving with sus-pended license.

October 1

Deputy observed a vehicle on Gumlog Rd. traveling at a high rate of speed, at which time he attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver sped away reaching 93 MPH. Offender at-tempted to turn on Gumlog when he crashed into the woods. Two suspects were detained while the driver fled on foot. One suspect advised who was driving he vehicle, so K9 Joules was deployed and tracked the subject to a group of vehicles that were pulling off as they ex-ited the woods. A handgun, marijuana and a shoe were recovered near the vehicle. A shoe, jacket and brown powdery substance was recovered in the woods appx. 50-yards from the vehicle.

Deputy spoke with complainant in reference to an incident that occurred the day prior on Hwy 23 South during a birthday party. C/p stated there were about 26 people at the party and later discovered that someone had taken her prescription meds from the bathroom and syringe needles from the kitchen. When asked about a possible suspect, c/p stated she could not be sure due to the fact that there were several drug addicts at the party.

Deputy took a report regarding a domestic dispute. Complainant stated she and offender got into a dispute in front of her 7-year-old and 3-year-old regarding offender giving her the passcode to his phone because he was too drunk to call his mother. C/p stated after she got in his phone, she saw videos of young girls appearing to be under the age of 10 acting in a creepy, inappropriate manner. C/p stated offender began acting irate and was denying the videos on his phone, then locked himself in the room where the children were sleeping and punched the wall and was headbutting the closet door. C/p stated she eventually got of-fender to get out of the room and told him to leave and he broke the window above the sink.

Deputies discovered a vehicle in the roadway with its lights on and running with no one in it or around it on Coleman Lake Church Rd. Deputies walked the area then took the keys form the vehicle. Minutes later, deputies returned to the vehicle and made contact with the owner via phone who was unaware of her cars location and advised she didn’t let anyone use it. Victim went to where the vehicle was and advised that her son/suspect may have taken the vehicle but she didn’t want to press charges.
