July 1
Daniels Chevrolet contacted the SO in reference to someone cutting the fence to the impound lot and siphoning gas from vehicles.
July 3
Deputies were called to Oak Grove Church Rd. for a complainant stating the father of their child had taken them on 7/3 and not returned them to her yet. C/p stated she allowed offender to take the child for the 4th of July and was supposed to return the child before July 10. C/p stated she believed offender and child were at an Oak Grove Church Rd. address because offender’s sister answered the child’s phone and cussed her out. C/p also stated that that time, she had not custody orders through the courts but stated offender is legitimized, and is paying child support. Deputies went to the resident where he was met by offender’s sister who stated offender and the child were not there and had taken the child to Myrtle Beach on 7/3 and they returned to Athens on 7/7. The sister stated c/p had been messaging the child, making threats and making them scared to return home. Deputy advised the sister to inform offender he needs to go to the courts and work on a custody agreement. Deputy then spoke back with c/p and informed her that the sister stated neither offender not the child was at the residence. She was also informed to possibly work on a custody agreement so that the situation would not continue to occur. C/p stated she has custody paperwork through the courts but did not have a copy at that time. She was informed to get a copy and make sure it had the correct information on it since deputies did not have access to the info.
July 5
Deputies responded to Summer St. in reference to offender’s dog entering complainant’s yard showing signs of aggression. C/p stated the dog has been entering her yard and defecates and growls/barks at her dog, and charges towards c/p and other occupants.
July 6
Deputies responded to call on Hwy 57 E in reference to a male subject walking out in front of traffic. Upon arrival, deputy observed the male subject walking in the roadway and approached him. As he was speaking with him, he was able to smell the odor of alcohol from his breath, at which point deputy asked how much he had to drink and he stated around 2 beer about an hour prior to their encounter. Subject was placed under arrest for public drunk.
July 7
Deputies responded to Injunction Rd. for a possible domestic dispute. Victim stated her son was in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with both parties who stated there had been no domestic dispute and that they had just moved the bed and several other objects in his room. Deputies were able to observe that both were intoxicated which was impairing them and causing strain on the situation. While deputies were investigating the incident, victim and offender yelled and cussed at each other. Victim was making complaint that she did not want offender to have other people at her residence, that offender was underage drinking, and that the situation was too much on her old age. Offender was making claims that victim was just too drunk, drinks too much every night, and was “doing too much”. Victim and offender continued to yell and cuss after being told to stop by deputies. Offender hit several different walls but did not break any and was told to stop, and eventually hit a wall near a door leading outside, leaving a hole. Offender was placed in handcuffs and informed that he was being placed under arrest.
Deputies responded to a call on Badger Rd. about a stolen vehicle placed by offender. Before deputies arrived, 911 advised offender had called two more times stating that people were going on his property and taking whatever they wanted. When deputies arrived, offender went outside very irate and pointed his finger at deputies then at his vehicle stating that they were the ones that took his vehicle, and started walking back towards his residence. As he was walking towards his residence, he stated that ECSO wasn’t **** and they could go back where they came from. Deputies tried to talk to offender but he slammed the door and refused to speak with them any further. Deputies then began to leave the residence and could see offender peeping through several windows of his residence, turning lights on and off. Within about 30 mins. of leaving offender’s residence, 911 called stating offender had called back several more times and just hung up. Deputies went back to the residence and had SPD Sgt. Go with them because they were unsure of the situation that was going on with offender because of the way h was acting. When they arrived back at offender’s residence, offender still refused to come out to speak with them and 911 also advised that while they were on scene, offender called 911 a couple more times. Deputy then got offender’s number from 911 and tried calling him multiple times to try to get him out of the residence but every time he answered, he stated ECSO wasn’t **** and he was tired of them taking his stuff and he wasn’t going outside for them to shoot him. He also stated that he doesn’t give nothing; he takes what he wants. During the several times of trying to talk to offender on the phone, he was walking back and forth through his residence, turning lights on and off while peeping through windows. Deputy could also hear offender screaming and yelling from outside. Deputy then contacted Capt. about the incident and advised him of what was going on and he advised them to stand down for the time being.
Deputy responded to the Courthouse parking lot in reference to a physical altercation. Upon arrival, deputy learned that the parties involved had separated and left the location. A few moments later, Major was contacted by complainant, which is victim’s aunt, and advised him of the incident. C/p and victim returned to the SO and stated to deputy that offenders jumped on her while she was seated in a vehicle. Victim stated one of the offenders was dating her brother and they didn’t like her before the incident due to unknown circumstances in the past, but victim was very reluctant to speak to deputy. Deputy did observe victim’s left eye to have minor swelling.
Deputy responded to Glenwood Rd. in reference to someone entering an auto. Upon arrival, complainant stated he left his wallet inside his vehicle and returned a little while later to discover his license, debit card, and social security card had been taken.
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 W. in reference to a stranded motorist. Upon arriving, the vehicle was observed to be partially in the roadway. Offender advised she ran out of gas and had someone bringing gas to her. 911 advised the tag display on the vehicle was registered to another vehicle with suspended registration and no insurance. Offender stated she had just purchased the vehicle but did not have a BOS, nor was she able to give a location where the transaction took place, and stated the tag was on the vehicle when she bought it. The VIN was run which indicated the current license plate had been transferred and the vehicle had no insurance.
Deputies responded to Hwy 80 E. in reference to an unwanted person. Complainant stated offender drove past his home while he was outside with friends and shortly after, offender turned into his driveway and backed out, and advised he has a court order stating offender is not allowed on his property.
Complainant stated she believes her brother stole three pit-bulls from Swainsboro and took them to his residence on Rufus Cross Rd. C/p stated her brother is an extreme drug addict and cannot afford for himself or his dogs. C/p also stated the dogs have torn into her chicken pin and killed one of her chickens.
July 8
Deputies received a report from complainant advising that she and her boyfriend/offender were arguing and offender was threatening to commit suicide by taking misc pills, and has made threats before. C/p advised she wanted him to leave the residence and deputy advised her of the eviction process to seek through courts. Deputy then spoke with offender and he advised that c/p was lying and was tired of arguing and just wanted to go to sleep.
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 W. in reference to a tree down in the roadway blocking one lane of travel. Deputies arrived on scene and observed a small tree and were able to clear the roadway.
Deputies were dispatched to Old Wadley Rd. for a tree that had fallen into the roadway. A small tree limb was observed and removed.
Deputies received a call about a vehicle that had hit a tree and no one was around it. Upon arrival, it appeared that the vehicle left the highway and struck a tree causing extensive damage to the front end and no one was around the vehicle.
Deputy responded to McGarrh Mill Pond Rd. in reference to the complainant’s sister shooting at her.
Deputies received a report from complainant advising that she has had a white male walking between her house and storage building. C/p stated they went out and tried making contact and offender ran off into the woods. She also advised that she don’t recognize the offender.
Deputies responded to Hwy 23 S. in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, deputy spoke with complainant and he advised that offender was trying to buy the vehicle for $1800 and he went back to his residence to get the title so offender could take it and the vehicle to the finance company. Offender left a truck with c/p as collateral until she returned with the money and left the keys and signed title of the vehicle with c/p. C/p advised they saw the vehicle in Swainsboro a day prior and offender has yet to pay for it or take it back, and is not answering any phone calls.
Deputies assisted DFCS with a home visit and assessment on E. Norris St.
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 1 S. for a two-vehicle accident involving two tractor trailers. GSP was requested and responded for accident investigation. MCCD responded as well. Drivers of both tractor trailers were transported to EMS for treatment. Both tractor trailers were removed by towing companies. GDOT responded to ensure proper roadway clean-up and to repair damaged signs.
July 9
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 297 in reference to complainant’s believing someone was attempting to break into their vehicle.
July 11
Deputies responded to Wolf Ln. for a prowler call. Complainant states she believed there was someone under her camper hitting it. Upon arrival, deputies struggled to locate the residence due to it being in a fenced in area. Deputy then observed c/p exit the camper and called out to her to see if she called deputies., but were unable to hear her. At that time, deputy entered the fenced in area to speak with c/p and she stated two known males had been staying in the storage camper beside her and would go to her camper and “peep” in the windows. She stated she was “visually impaired” but her dog would bark, alerting her”.
911 dispatched a medical call for a female having trouble breathing and requested deputies be enroute to Moore St. in Midville due to complainant being possibly intoxicated. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with c/p who was still on the phone with 911 stating she was afraid deputies or EMS were going to hurt her or her dogs. C/p finally went out of her camper and entered the ambulance. Deputy could smell alcohol on her and she stated she was an alcoholic and not functioning. C/p would not listen to EMS workers, but eventually laid on the stretcher. C/p requested her dogs be left outside the camper door to be left open. C/p left in the ambulance. Deputy shut the camper door due to liability issues, and the dogs were left outside.
