East Georgia State College Women’s Basketball receives GCAA Coach of the Year, Player of the Year

The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Women's DI Basketball coaches recently selected the Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year for the 2023-2024 season. East Georgia State College is excited to have received three of the four awards!

East Georgia State College’s (EGSC) Head Women’s Basketball Coach Theo Howard was voted the GCAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year, Women's Basketball player D'Mya Griffin was voted the GCAA Women's Player of the Year and Charlese "Tree" McClendon was named the GCAA Freshmen of the Year.

This season the EGSC Women’s Basketball Team has dominated the GCAA. The team is undefeated in conference play and is ranked in the USA Top 25 for the second consecutive season. Having clinched first place in the conference, EGSC will host the GCAA Conference Tournament at home in Swainsboro, and will play in the semifinals on Friday, March 15, at 6 p.m. with the championship game being on Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m.
