The Emanuel Arts Council will host a Block Party for the Arts on March 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. The 100 block of North Green Street will be closed to traffic during those hours. The event will feature art by Swainsboro High School, Emanuel County Institute and East Georgia State College.

Artwork by the students will be judged by three local judges. Prizes will be awarded to winners from each school. A Sidewalk Chalk Contest will also be held in front of The Kalmanson Gallery and the Karrh Community Arts Center (theater). Entertainment and refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. The first block party was held in October 2022. This year, the EAC board of directors decided on a Spring event.
