The Swainsboro Rotary Club met at the Rustic Grill on Monday, June 8, during the noon hour. The meeting was called to order, and the club recited the pledge and 4-way test. Patti Hendley introduced Dr. Shannon Lawrence as the speaker. He is in charge of the Emanuel County Young Farmer Program, and they are hosting the farm tour that will be held this weekend. Dr. Lawrence shared the schedule of events for the weekend and is expecting around 300 people to be on the tour of Emanuel County. Crider Poultry, Mercer Farms & MTMS, Emanuel Peanut and Grain and Faircloth Forestry Products will be on the tour also. An addition to this tour is the Homemade Ice cream challenge that will be held Saturday afternoon. Shannon and his team have worked tirelessly to organize this event that will spotlight Emanuel County and the role that agriculture plays in our community. Ag South Farm Credit will be presenting a financial class at Southeastern Technical College. There will also be a skeet shoot at Flat Creek Lodge as a fundraiser for the Sunshine House
