You can call him head strong. You can call him obnoxious. You can call him arrogant, and you can call him rude. But one thing you can’t call him is lazy. You can argue about his policies and the slash and burn way he administers government, but in less than one year, Donald Trump has created more beneficial, impactful economic legislation, and deleted more regulatory hinderances to the growth of business than any other President in recent history. He has lowered inflation, lowered the Consumer Price Index and increased the GDP. He also cut illegal immigration from a 2024 high of a three-day illegal weekend border crossing of almost 12,000 unvetted immigrants down to an average three-day crossing number of less than 1,200.
However, in the same time period, President Trump has repeatedly sent Republicans into hiding with antics that were worse than his YMCA dance moves. The highly touted “Liberation Day” which introduced tariffs to our international trading partners was about as popular as a submarine with a screen door. Most of the damage ensuing from that is still being mended. Elon Musk and the President had a brief “bromance”. It seemed like a relationship made in Egoheaven, but we found out Washington, D.C. just wasn’t big enough for them both. Following his homerun closing of the border, Trump committed an unearned error, a bogie, and a targeting penalty when he started including innocent Nicaraguan grandmas and Ecuadorian plumbers, roofers and landscapers in the mass deportations along with the street gang murderers and thugs. ICE Director Tom Homan says they are working on a better plan to keep the good people here. My advice is to get on quickly with it! On the cultural front, Trump decided there wasn’t enough gold around the White House, so I guess he sent the National Guard out to Las Vegas to round up a little more. I like gold, too. What I didn’t like was DJT putting his name in front of JFK’s on the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. That building was put there as a tribute to the President assassinated in 1963. On the military front, I have to give the President credit. For the last two Democrat Presidents, we have had nothing but paper tigers. Trump is just enough like Clint Eastwood to scare the “you know what” out of the bad guys around the world. Honestly, knowing he has the launch codes scares me just enough, that I have a little trouble sleeping some nights myself.
Thank goodness, our country has the premier fighting force of this planet and thank goodness the whole world knows it. That’s what gives us the power and credibility that keep China and Russia in check. Every day it becomes more and more apparent that our country is the preeminent guardian of peace, not only within the bounds of “sea to shining sea” but also from pole to frigid pole of the free world. The threat grows constantly. Today, we watch as Ukraine twists in the agony of war. Iran is on the brink of revolution. We wonder what will develop in Venezuela, and I think we would all join together in agreement and sing Why You Wanna Buy Greenland When You Can Rent. I’ll try to stay with you as long as I can, Mr. President, but remember, they finally exiled Napolean to a nice warm little island in the Mediterranean. I think you should carefully reconsider any island purchases right now. You’ve got enough on your plate right now that no matter what comes along next, can’t nobody call you lazy.
