DeVos speaks to the Fall Line

The Fall Line Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Tuesday, November 14, at the Chamber of Commerce building in Sandersville at 7 p.m. With President Sandy Mercer presiding, they had 12 in attendance. After the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR, President Sandy asked Vice President Dess Smith III to introduce the speaker. The speaker, LTC (ret) Ed DeVos, is a retired Army Ranger and has received the Silver Star with one oak leaf cluster, the Legion of Merit, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the U.S. and German Parachute Wings. Ed lives with his wife Susan in McCormick, SC. He is an author of several books, and his presentation was on "Revenge at Kings Mountain, the over the Mountain Boys. President Sandy then mentioned to the Chapter about the upcoming "Wreaths Across America" event to be held on Saturday, December 16, in Washington County and the assistance that the Chapter were providing.
