David Emanuel Middle School Lady Eagles dominated on Tuesday, January 20, defeating the Thomas Jefferson Academy Lady Jaguars by a score of 40–8. The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Mary Bess Fields with 14 points, while Ava Williams added 10 points. Rayleigh Faircloth contributed 7 points, Blakely Johnson chipped in 5 points, and Weslee Fields finished with 2 points.
The Lady Eagles will wrap up their season on the road, traveling to Sparta, on Friday, January 23, to take on the John Hancock Academy Lady Rebels in their final game of the season.
David Emanuel Middle School Eagles fell to Thomas Jefferson Academy by a score of 45–25 on Tuesday, January 20, in Louisville. The Eagles were led in scoring by Callen Sapp with 10 points, and he also pulled down 7 rebounds. Dalton Flowers added 5 points, while Bentley Brinson finished with 4 points and 8 rebounds. Charlie McRae contributed 3 points, Blaine Fordham scored 2 points, and Case Black added 1 point.
The Eagles will close out their season on the road, traveling to Sparta, on Friday, January 23, to take on the John Hancock Academy Rebels in their final game of the season.
The David Emanuel Lady Eagles picked up a hard-fought overtime region win on the road Tuesday, January 20, at Thomas Jefferson Academy. The Lady Eagles trailed 11–4 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime down 24–18. A dominant third quarter saw the Eagles outscore the Lady Jaguars 19–7, giving David Emanuel a six-point lead heading into the fourth. Thomas Jefferson rallied late, forcing overtime with the score tied 44–44, but the Lady Eagles held strong in the extra period to secure a two-point victory, improving to 3–0 in region play.
The Lady Eagles were led by Kaley Flowers, who posted an outstanding performance with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots. Aubrey Scott provided a big spark off the bench, scoring 12 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. Addalyn Terwilliger added 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, while Aubrey Williams filled the stat sheet with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Bailey McNure contributed 4 points, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. Rayleigh Faircloth scored 3 points, and Emily McRae finished with 2 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
The Lady Eagles will be back on the road Thursday, January 22, traveling to Savannah to take on the Habersham Lady Patriots.
David Emanuel Eagles fell on Tuesday night, January 20, in Louisville, to the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars by a score of 78–46. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, 11–9 after the first quarter and went into halftime trailing 22–16. David Emanuel stayed within striking distance through three quarters, trailing 44–39 heading into the fourth. However, a big fourth-quarter surge by the Jaguars put the game out of reach.
Despite the loss, the Eagles moved to 2–1 in region play. Ethan Fields led the way with a standout performance, scoring 26 points while adding 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Karson Kettles contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Layton Terwilliger finished with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Ben Griner added 2 points.
The Eagles will be back on the road Thursday, January 22, traveling to Savannah to take on the Habersham Patriots.
