David Emanuel sweeps John Hancock in series

On Monday, in Stillmore, Brody Fleming took the ball in game one of the region series. He struck out 13 Rebels in six strong innings as Jay Carter and Sailor Powell struck out two in the seventh to finish the victory. Tucker Free and Clayton Hood scored on a Fleming single in the first to take an early lead. In the fifth inning, Billy Martin legged out a single, stole second and scored on a Cooper Riner double. In the sixth, the Eagles stretched out the lead as Sailor Powell, Free, Hood, and Fleming each plated a run as David Emanuel came away with a 9-1 victory.

On Tuesday, in Sparta, Richard Braddy started on the mound for the Eagles in game two and pitched three no-hit innings striking out four Rebels. Randon Williams doubled in Jay Carter and Richard Braddy to get the scoring started for David Emanuel. Williams later scored on a Tucker Free lined drive past the third baseman. Then the rain came...game two was suspended and was completed in Stillmore on Thursday. Freshman Layton Terwilliger started and picked up the win for the Eagles as he pitched three strong innings with five strikeouts. Sailor Powell struck out two in the seventh inning to secure the win for the Eagles. Jay Carter led the Eagles going 3-3 and getting hit by a pitch, stealing a base, and scoring four runs. Braddy and Powell plated two runs each as the Eagles took the victory 10-4.

In game three, Richard Braddy returned to the hill and struck out eight Rebels as he worked five dominant innings. Tucker Free and Sailor Powell took care of the rest of game by combining for three strikeouts. The game was scoreless until the fourth inning, when Senior Billy Martin beat out an infield single and then stole second. Martin then stole third and scored as the attempt to get him sailed into leftfield giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. In the fifth inning, David Emanuel broke the game open as Sailor Powell opened with a double, Tucker Free was hit by a pitch, Clayton Hood had a hard single to leftfield later scoring on a hard-hit ball by Brody Fleming. Billy Martin drove in Fleming with a single as the Eagles ended the fifth 5-0. Cooper Riner, Layton Terwilliger, and Sailor Powell all scored in the sixth inning as the Eagles completed the sweep of the John Hancock Rebels 9-1.
