David Emanuel Basketball in full swing

Over the last month, the David Emanuel Academy Eagles have been in full swing with basketball playing all of their games on the road. On December 12, 2023, the Eagles traveled to Pinehurst to face the Fullington Academy Trojans. In the middle school games, the girls won 21-12 with Emily McRae leading the team with 8 points followed by Lyla Martin 5 points, Aubrey Scott 4 points, Kaley Flowers and Rayleigh Faircloth both with 2 points. In the middle school boys’ game, the Eagles came out on top with a score of 25-21 over the Trojans. Lake Woods was the high scorer with 14 points, followed by Karson Kettles 5 points, and Jace Farmer and Dalton Flowers both with 3 points. During the varsity games, the Lady Eagles fell to the Trojans with a loss of 59-37 and the varsity boys with a loss of 58-43. In the varsity girl’s game, Kylie Bell had 13 points, Aubrey Williams 11 points, Emma Proctor 9 points, Addalyn Terwilliger 3 points, and Maddi Perkins 1 point. In the varsity boys’ game, Randon Williams was the lead scorer with 14 points followed by Billy Martin and Peyton Lee both with 9 points, Ethan Fields 5 points, and Richard Braddy and Tony Sutton both with 3 points.

On December 11, the Eagles traveled to Waynesboro to compete against the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans. The middle school girls’ team was victorious over the Spartans with a final score of 30-22. Emily McRae was high scorer with 10 points, Kaley Flowers with 8 points, Lyla Martin and Aubrey Scott both with 4 points, and Scott Hall and Rayleigh Faircloth both with 2 points. In the middle school boys’ game, DEA lost to Edmund Burke 31-11. Ben Griner led with 5 points followed by Jace Farmer, Eli Way, and Jack Evans Fields contributing 2 points each. In the varsity girls’ game, the Eagles fell to the Spartans 66-33. Aubrey Williams led with 13 points followed by Bailey McNure with 7 points, Kyli Bell 6 points, Emma Proctor 5 points, and Addalyn Terwilliger 2 points. The Eagle varsity boys secured a victory with a final score of 54-41. Randon Williams led the team with 17 points followed by Billy Martin with 15 points, Peyton Lee 11 points, Ethan Fields 6 points, Tony Sutton and Brody Fleming each with 2 points, and Richard Braddy 1 point.

On December 12, the Eagles traveled to Savannah to play the Habersham School Patriots. In the JV boys’ game, the Eagles beat the Patriots 38-37. Peyton Templeton was lead scorer with 10 points, followed by Ethan Fields 7 points, Sailor Powell 6 points, Nolan Powell and Revan Fortner both with 4 points, Brody Fleming 3 points, and John-Nathan Martin and Richard Braddy both with 2 points. In the varsity girls’ game, the Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Patriots 44-35. Emma Proctor and Addalyn Terwilliger both led the team with 11 points each followed by Aubrey Williams with 8 points, Kylie Bell 3 points, and Maddie Perkins 2 points. The Varsity boys lost to Habersham with a final score of 71-44. Peyton Lee led the team with 19 points, followed by Billy Martin with 8 points, Richard Braddy and Randon Williams each with 6 points, Ethan Fields with 4 points, and AJ Edenfield with 1 point.

On January 5, 2024, the Varsity Eagles traveled to Athens to face off with the Monsignor Donovan Rams. The Lady Eagles were victorious over the Rams with a final score of 51-30, and the varsity boys to the Rams 74-36. In the girls’ game, Emma Proctor and Addalyn Terwilliger both led the team with 11 points each followed by Kylie Bell and Emma Proctor both contributing 10 points each, Maddie Perkins 7 points, and Bailey McNure 2 points. In the varsity boys’ game, Randon Williams and Ethan Fields both led the team with 8 points each followed by Billy Martin and Peyton Lee each with 6 points, Richard Braddy 5 points, and Brody Fleming 3 points.
